I wanted to play the ukulele. I wanted to do something totally extravagant that had almost no purpose (that anyone else could see, at least). I probably just wanted to do something to keep myself occupied while I ignored the anxiety caused by this particular anniversary, but in any case...

We put together this hysterical thing. There were costumes and whole pigs and friends and family (and people I didn't know coming up to me weeks later and saying "man, I was at a party at your house!"). But mostly, when was the last time anyone really had fun at Christmas?
